Just over halfway through the wonderful Aphrodite Les Folies tour with Kylie, it’s been a total whirlwind but a truly wonderful experience to be a part of. Europe, UK, Japan and the US are all done. Australia, South East Asia and South Africa left to do. It’s an honour to be surrounded by such talent and I’m excited to see the results in 3D. As another year ends…
As another year ends, it’s time to reflect on everything that’s gone on in the last twelve months.
After a wonderful eight months touring Europe with Christophe Willem, meeting incredibly talented new musicians and reacquainting myself with the world of all things electronic, I was delighted and honoured to be asked to join the extraordinary Kylie Minogue’s band. The first full show with Kylie was something that will stay with me for the rest of my life-performing in front of the Sphinx and Pyramids in Cairo, an experience that makes me realize how lucky I am to be doing what I’m doing.
Add to that working on The Bonfires debut record with some of my best friends and it’s been a truly outstanding year.
I want to say a massive thank you to Barry and Richie at BR Distribution for looking after all my drum and cymbal needs this year, Felicity Gregory at Yamaha for supplying all of the amazing electronic gear I’ve been using and Craig and Karen at Music Shipping for the heads, sticks and percussion. I’m really grateful to all of these guys for being so lovely and helping me do my job.
